南海北部钦州湾大风江口海域溶解碳水化合物的分布特征及影响因素

摘要:

采用TPTZ (2, 4, 6-三吡啶-s-三嗪, tripyridyltriazine, C18H12N6)方法对2022年7月大风江口海域溶解态单糖(monosaccharides, MCHO)、多糖(polysaccharides, PCHO)和总糖(total carbohydrates, TCHO)浓度进行分析, 并探究其分布特征及影响因素。结果表明, 大风江口海域表层海水中MCHO、PCHO和TCHO平均浓度分别为(24.78±12.72)、(14.75±3.66)和(39.53±12.87)μmol C·L−1, 变化范围分别为8.52~43.71、9.96~21.01、19.54~61.72μmol C·L−1。TCHO平均占溶解有机碳(dissolved organic carbon, DOC)比例为(52.8±17.3)%, 表明TCHO是该海域水体中DOC的重要组成部分。MCHO平均占TCHO比例为(59.1±15.5)%, 表明MCHO是TCHO的主要存在形式。大风江口海域表层水体中MCHO和TCHO浓度分布沿河流—河口—海湾连续体均呈现逐渐递减的趋势, PCHO则表现出相反的分布趋势。MCHO和TCHO浓度均与盐度呈显著的负相关(P<0.01), 表明陆源输入和物理稀释作用是控制大风江口海域溶解碳水化合物浓度分布的重要影响因素。PCHO与叶绿素a (Chl-a)浓度高值区相一致, 表明PCHO浓度分布可能主要受浮游植物原位生产等生物过程的调控。本研究将为世纪工程平陆运河建设之前钦州湾河流—河口—海湾连续体中水体溶解碳水化合物提供基础数据, 对深入认识广西北部湾近海碳循环过程及其机制具有重要意义。

Abstract:

The concentrations of dissolved monosaccharides (MCHO), polysaccharides (PCHO), and total carbohydrates (TCHO) were determined using the 2, 4, 6-tripyridyl-s-triazine (TPTZ) method in the Dafengjiang River Estuary (DRE) during July 2022, and their distribution characteristics and influencing factors were examined. The results showed that the average concentrations of MCHO, PCHO, and TCHO in the surface seawater of the DRE were (24.78±12.72), (14.75±3.66), and (39.53±12.87) μmol C·L-1, respectively, with corresponding ranges of 8.52−43.71, 9.96−21.01, and 19.54−61.72 μmol C·L-1. TCHO accounted for an average of (52.8 ± 17.3)% of the dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentration, indicating that TCHO was a significant component of DOC in the study area. MCHO contributed an average of (59.1 ± 15.5)% to TCHO, suggesting that MCHO was the dominant form of TCHO. The concentrations of MCHO and TCHO exhibited a gradual decreasing trend along the river-estuary-bay continuum, while PCHO showed the opposite distribution pattern. Both MCHO and TCHO concentrations were significantly negatively correlated with salinity (P<0.01), indicating that terrestrial inputs and physical dilution processes were key factors controlling the distribution of dissolved carbohydrates in the DRE. The high-value areas of PCHO coincided with those of chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) concentrations, indicating that the distribution of PCHO concentrations might be mainly regulated by in situ production and other biological processes of phytoplankton. This study provides baseline data on dissolved carbohydrates in the river-estuary-bay continuum of the Qinzhou Bay prior to the construction of the Pinglu Canal, a mega project. These findings are of great significance for deepening our understanding of coastal carbon cycling processes and their mechanisms in the Beibu Gulf of Guangxi.
