Abstract

The genus Stylocheiron (Malacostraca: Euphausiacea: Euphausiidae) comprises 12 species reported worldwide. This study identifies a newly recorded species of Stylocheiron from the South China Sea, Stylocheiron armatum Colosi, 1917. Detailed descriptions of its morphology are provided, and a comparative analysis with the closely related species Stylocheiron carinatum is discussed. Specimens are deposited in the Marine Biodiversity Collections of the South China Sea, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
