Abstract

The secondary metabolites of strain ZSDS1-F11, an endophytic fungus isolated from the sponge Phakelliafusca Thiele, were investigated. Fermented products of ZSDS1-F11 were purified by means of chromatography over silica gel column, Sephadex LH-20 and semi-preparative HPLC. Compounds were confirmed based on their physical and chemical properties, spectroscopic analysis and comparison with the relevant literature. Using COX-1 and COX-2 as molecular targets for inflammation inhibitor screening, eight compounds were obtained from the fermented products of strain ZSDS1-F11. Compounds 1 and 2 showed weak inhibitory activity against enzyme COX-1, their IC50 values were 27.2 and 2.93 μmol, respectively. The strain ZSDS1-F11 produced diverse bioactive secondary metabolites. This is the first report on compounds 1 and 2 with weak anti-inflammatory activity.
